Some years ago, I suggested at a Croydon Caving Club meeting that there should be some simple rules at the cottage. In particular, I proposed 'no smoking' and 'no animals' for the sake of safety and consideration to the local farmers.
There was an outcry: "We don't need rules at the cottage".
Well, just recently some members have been bitten by pets at the cottage. I myself have narrowly escaped! So let's put a stop to it now.
NO ANIMALS AT THE COTTAGE
I know this is a sensitive matter and it is nothing personal I assure you. But if this continues, members and guests will find other club huts to stay at.
