CCC-MAIL: Users of the "CIX" networked bulletin board may already be aware that CUL is an abbreviation for "see you later". Could this mean that the battle on Pant Mawr is to recommence?

DID YOU KNOW: We've become so much a part of the scenery in Ystradfellte that we now feature in the guidebooks. Pub Walks in the Brecon Beacons National Park (Kestrel Publishing, 1992) has this entry: "The New Inn in Ystradfellte is pleasant and is_often_frequented_by caving_groups exploring the nearby cave systems: it serves Whitbread beer and good bar food." Perhaps we should ask to be put on a retainer!

PERHAPS BRITAIN IS TURNING INTO A GREAT BIG 'THEME PARK': On the very day that the closure of Tower Colliery, the last deep coal mine in South Wales, was announced (for the first time), one of our members received an advertisment from the University of Exeter/Camborne School of Mines for an MSc in Mining & Industrial Heritage Management!
