A new guide in the Constable Walkers Guide Series, this book is in fact a reprint of the Yorkshire section in Waltham's previous Constable Guide "Caves and Crags and Gorges" (1984) which is now, presumably out of print. The sections on Devon, Mendip, Derbyshire and S. Wales have been omitted.

The new version is almost identical to its predecessor except that some of the photographs are new and the introduction has been reworked. The book is essentially a layman's guide to the caves and karst of Yorkshire outlining 40 sites of interest ranging from the Buttertubs to Penyghent Pot.
